At WAYS for Life, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. This summer, Seth, one of our incredible interns, stood out with their dedication and vibrant spirit. From the moment Seth joined our team, their upbeat personality and positive energy radiated throughout the office, making it a brighter place for everyone.
Seth not only met but exceeded the expectations of their internship. They stayed late to help whenever needed and extended their time with us, continuing to volunteer even after their official internship ended. Seth’s commitment to our mission has been truly inspiring, and they continue to support us remotely by assisting with preparations for our upcoming Volunteer Appreciation Event in October.
We asked Seth to share some of their favorite memories and experiences from their time with WAYS, and here’s what they had to say:
Favorite Moment: “There were a couple of times when I would be aiding around the place, and one of the members would speak to me. There was one member, AS, who gave me some fist bumps every now and then. It still makes me smile to think about it.”
Personal Growth: “Working at WAYS was a tremendous boost to my self-esteem and confidence. After working there for a few months, I have an understanding of the value of my work and how to better myself with it.”
Making an Impact: “It’s not quite a story, but I feel like I've done a lot at WAYS. I don’t think I’d really believe it if not for the abundant compliments and gratitude I was given while working there. I think my most productive moment has to be when I was shaping together the volunteer training course. And it was fun, too!”
Advice for Future Interns: “It’s a little bit difficult to find things to do in the beginning since many work subjects require some trust and faith to even view, but there’s always quality of life details around the place. And you’ll learn a lot through observation, too!”
Seth’s experience and contributions have truly made WAYS for Life a better place, not just for our team but for the community we serve. We are incredibly grateful for all they have done and continue to do. Seth, thank you for your unwavering support and for making a lasting impact at WAYS for Life!
